INTRODUCTION<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Death Row is a short, dense, horror role play game set on death row. The player has been sentenced to the electric chair for a crime they probably did commit. Your challenge is to help them escape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This game is an adaptation of the original Death Row<\/a> and is based on fighting and intimidation. Only by carefully climbing the ranks can you escape!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first half of the game takes place over three days, with the player electrocuted on the third day. You have three actions each day to stop that from happening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DIFFICULTY<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This game is like groundhog day on death row. Expect to die several times along the way and have to complete several run-throughs to complete the game. The game is short enough to allow this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This game has three levels of difficulty, Easy, Medium and Hard. <\/strong>Once you have completed the game, you can replay it with a different fight sequence using the Generate option.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are 360 levels available (120 per difficulty) generated using a seed. You can write down this seed to replay the exact same game later.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The game will take 10 minutes to an hour to complete depending on difficulty if you are very focused but longer if you take your time and enjoy the atmosphere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CONTROLS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Standard RPG rules apply. Direction buttons move you around and use button A to interact. Death Row evolves slowly as the days pass, so it pays to revisit things you have already interacted with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NARRATIVE<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A lot of time has gone into the story, characters and narrative. I recommend reading the narrative at least the first time around. However, in the main hall, narratives can be toggled on\/off with SELECT. Narratives containing clues are always on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

COMPATIBILITY<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The game is for the Game Boy Original and should be playable on any Game Boy or emulator that can play .gb files.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NEW! A .pocket file is now available for the Analogue Pocket<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On some handhelds you can copy the zip itself. This will ensure the .gb file doesn’t get corrupt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
